One thing you won’t read in the mainstream media about the November 5th Million Mask March is the fact that it was predominantly peaceful. Right from the beginning of the march there was a feeling of electric positivity in the air. Fathers with their children on their shoulders, smiles and knowing nods exchanged, with Bob Marley blaring, an underlying sense of cheeky conviviality and a collective understanding that as individuals we have the power to change things.
It should be noted here that some of the only aggressive behaviour I witnessed was perpetuated by the police. If we take a look at all the Anonymous releases prior to the event, the one thing they all had in common was an overwhelming desire for a peaceful display of solidarity.
